Ann Peacock, mooted as a Melbourne mayoral candidate, has sold her Toorak mansion. The daughter of former Liberal Party leader Andrew Peacock and the late Lady Susan Renouf bought the three-bedroom house from the Kallenbach family for $4.25 million last March having previously been living in a Toorak penthouse. Peacock, who is a long-time Crown casino executive, decided not to proceed with her planned $300,000 renovation, selling through Marshall White agent Justin Long for about $4.5m. Peacock’s mother lived nearby on Struan Street in a house demolished after its $5.05m sale in February last year to the Toorak-based Oliva family.

Ganim brewery conversion

A residential conversion of an original Richmond brewery has been listed for sale. Its conversion was by one of Melbourne’s most celebrated designers, Rae Ganim and her husband, late entrepreneur Anthony Ganim. The Ganims owned the warehouse-style home from 1990 until 1997. It last traded for $2m in 2001. The Lyndhurst Street property maintains some industrial features, especially in the drying rooms of the malthouse. Covering three levels with a lift, the home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. There’s a dedicated home-office zone and a rooftop terrace with 360-degree views across the city. Jock Langley and Emma Pierson at Abercromby’s have set a February 27 auction, quoting $5m to $5.5m.

Eagle settles in $1.15m nest

West Coast Eagles star Jeremy McGovern, who has a number of clubs chasing his signature for the 2019 season, has bought a home in Perth. It was bought with his partner Madi Williams for $1.15m. The 1970s home in Trigg, northwest of Perth, on the coast, was updated in 2012. The family home with split level open-plan living area has three bedrooms, a home office and an outdoor area complete with saltwater spa. Brad and Kate Hardingham at Realmark Coastal sold the property. The couple’s purchase prompted McGovern to lease his former home, a three-bedder 8km north in Padbury, which has found a $420-a-week tenant. That cost him $537,500 in 2014. The 25-year-old all-Australian defender has spent the past four years at the Eagles. It is reported the club has offered McGovern a five-year deal worth about $4m.

Search over for business couple

Glenn and Victoria Hargraves, part-owners of the directory online search company Local Search, have reduced the price for their redundant Mermaid Beach home. They’re now asking $3.995m, having initially sought $4.5m. The price drop comes after they spent $9m on a waterfront at Broadbeach Waters. The Mermaid Beach home cost the couple $2.98m in 2014. The six-bedroom home on an 810sq m beachfront parcel features an executive home office, cinema with tiered seating, an entertainment room with wet bar and a temperature-controlled wine room. Michael Kollosche at Kollosche Prestige is marketing the home.
