Nasser parks his penthouse
Melbourne businessman Jac Nasser, the former president of Ford, has quietly listed his luxury South Yarra penthouse.
Melbourne businessman Jac Nasser, the former president of the Ford and chairman of BHP, has quietly listed his luxury South Yarra penthouse. There’s a $5 million-$5.5m price guide for the Domain Road apartment through Andrew Baines at Andrew Baines & Co South Yarra. Set atop a Wood Marsh-designed block of just six, the fourth floor apartment, controlled by CBUS home automation, has three ensuited bedrooms. There’s a northern entertainers’ terrace. Nasser paid $3,131,500 in 2004 when moving from Lower Templestowe. The apartment complex hit the headlines when the former ANZ boss Mike Smith and wife Maria paid $5.75m in 2015. Nasser serves on the boards of 21st Century Fox and Koc Holding.
SeaChange in prices
With the return of SeaChange to television next year, Barwon Heads could again be in the spotlight if the Channel Nine series films in the coastal Victorian location again. Some commentators have calculated Barwon Heads prices have outdone Melbourne’s during the intervening two decades since the days of the Sunday night favourites, Diver Dan, Bob and Heather Jelly and Laura Gibson. One recent sale was the holiday rental home known as Cottesloe Beach Shack for $900,000 to Northcote buyers, showing sizeable price growth.
The cute Cottesloe Drive cottage had traded at $500,050 in 2010 when bought by a Richmond couple, who saw its rental income jump to over $50,000 a year. It sold at $275,000 in 2004 and before that at $1100 to an Essendon couple in 1971. The cottage once featured on the Channel Nine tourism show, Postcards, albeit with Glen Moriarty (not Bec Judd)singing its praises.
Runs on the board
Upsizing Australian cricketer Shaun Marsh has had better news back home after struggling in the opening two Tests against Pakistan. Marsh and wife, journalist and former Miss Universe contestant Rebecca O’Donovan, quickly found a buyer for their Bicton home, southwest of the Perth CBD. The couple, who wed in 2015, bought the home a year earlier, paying $1,725,000. Built in 2012, the entertainer has four bedrooms, a dedicated home theatre and an alfresco that overlooks a heated swimming pool. One Residential Palmyra agent Shane Beaumont sold the home after a week on the market with 36 groups through and three offers.
Successful project
Craig Campbell, executive producer and creator of The Project, is selling his Balaclava warehouse conversion. The designer home, in a 1910s former foundry, features exposed brick feature walls, vaulted and beamed ceilings and full-width steel-framed windows and doors. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The living room with built-in bar opens to the private courtyard with water feature. Marshall White Bayside agents Sam Hobbs and Fiona Ansell-Jones have a $2.6m-$2.8m guide for its October 27 auction. Campbell, who co-owns Roving Enterprises with Rove McManus, paid $285,000 in 1994.
