Former mining tycoon Frank Timis and wife Carmen have snapped up a City Beach, Perth home for $5.5 million.
Former mining tycoon Frank Timis and wife Carmen have spent $5.5 million on a Perth home. Timis snapped up the property at City Beach just one day into its marketing. The London-based entrepreneur secured the home built in 2015 and designed by Giorgi Exclusive Homes. It has five bedrooms, a home office, theatre, sauna, gym, outdoor kitchen, pool and spa. Space Real Estate agent Scott Swingler secured the quick sale. Timis was once ranked the wealthiest Australian in Britain, according to the Sunday Times Rich List in 2011.
Country estate sold for $2.2m
Cider House, a country estate on the Mornington Peninsula, sold at last weekend’s auction for $2.18m. There were five bidders for the Tuerong listing, which was among the most viewed offerings on realestate.com.au. It was bought by an Armadale couple with a young child. McEwing Partners Mornington agents Dean Phillips and Amy Day sold the estate. Vendors Aaron and Carolyn Miglioranza bought the 2ha horse paddock in 2009. It is now a fully irrigated orchard with 14 varieties of apples planted in 2015. When fully mature, the trees will crop between 120kg and 200kg annually which could possibly reap around $84,000 per annum. There’s also a pavilion-style home with wraparound veranda, shedding and chook house. The 18 chooks are set to stay!
Wedding venue goes to auction
Botanica Whitsundays, the private residence that has been a luxury wedding venue near Airlie Beach, has been listed for sale. Vendors Ralph and Janet Hogan turned their seaside villa at Woodwark into a wedding venue over 10 years ago. The Balinese-themed weddings start at $11,000 and can cost up to $45,000. Fronted by 160m of Coral Sea frontage, the estate features a three-bedroom main residence plus guest pavilion. A swimming pool overlooks the ocean on the 2.2ha parcel that features outdoor living areas, manicured gardens, ponds, lush rainforest and wraparound veranda with rows of Balinese fluted timber columns. Queensland Sotheby’s agent Carol Carter has an August 6 auction.
Chatfields’ house up for grabs
Businessman and philanthropist Kevin Chatfield and wife Vicki have listed their Paradise Waters home, having bought the record-breaking Gold Coast penthouse of entrepreneur Ron Bakir earlier this year. It has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gym, steam room and a wine cellar across its four levels which are all accessible by the internal lift. The top-floor entertainment precinct features a marble bar, billiards room and a 260-degree terrace. The entry level has a theatre, home office, a 20m lap pool and a heated spa. The couple paid $4.8m for the home on the Admiralty Drive dress circle in 2011, buying it from the Ferrari-collecting Kiwi businessman Grant Baker and wife Donna. Lucy Cole Prestige Property agent Nick Cole has expressions of interest until July 18, with all furniture thrown in. The couple spent $9.5m for the Chevron Renaissance penthouse earlier this year.
