Mansion Noosa Heads unit fetches $6.9m
Melbourne-based businessman Andrew Abercrombie has emerged as the $6.9m buyer of a Noosa apartment
Melbourne-based businessman Andrew Abercrombie has emerged as the $6.9 million buyer of a Noosa apartment. Overlooking Laguna Bay, the three-bedroom apartment is one of the only whole-floor apartments on the beachfront Hastings Street. It features its own media room. It was marketed by Tom Offermann at Tom Offermann Real Estate as a lavish penthouse-style apartment, when offered fully furnished. It had been a $1125 a night rental. The price tracked sideways, having last traded for $6.9m in 2015. The street record came in 2006 when Perth-based Michael and Suzanne Hodgson paid $8.2m for an apartment in the Noosa Court building. Noosa is a little further to travel for Abercrombie and wife Shadda than Portsea, where they retain a clifftop holiday home.
Elsternwick home listed for $2.4m
Aloha, a Spanish Mission-style Elsternwick home built by the Reece plumbing family, has been listed for sale with a $2.39m asking price. Built in the mid-1920s, the home is described as Miami style. It comes with the first Italian mosaic tiles imported into Australia in the downstairs powder room. A restoration maintained the many glamorous features from the era, including its classic terrazzo porch, the lead light windows and doors and Degue-designed light fittings. Aloha is etched above the covered carport at the three-bedroom St Georges Road address, which has been restored since last sold at $480,000 in 1998. Its first floor was originally built as a dance studio. It now has two bedrooms, a living area, kitchenette, bathroom and a terrace balcony for entertaining. Rodney Morley and Rochelle Butt at Rodney Morley Real Estate have the listing. There have only been three owners with the Reece family selling in 1974 for $440,500.

Eagles legend sells Gwelup home
West Coast Eagles legend Matt Priddis and wife Ashleigh have sold their Gwelup property, which has been on and off the market since late 2016. It initially hit the market with mid-$900,000 hopes. However, it became a $650-a-week rental when a buyer failed to emerge. The double-fronted two- storey home’s last advertised price was from $879,000 earlier this year, with its wall laden with AFL memorabilia. It sold for $845,000. The home, 14km north west of Perth outside Stirling, cost the couple $395,000 in 2010. Advertised as the perfect lock up and leave, the home has three bedrooms, a home office and a theatre room. Realty Lane North Beach agent Daniel Gonzalez marketed the property as “flying high”. Priddis won the 2014 Brownlow Medal, retiring there years later to pursue a career in mortgage and finance broking.
