Bookmaker Simon Beasley, who is back on the punting scene with new business Beazabet, has sold in South Yarra.

Bookmaker Simon Beasley, who is back on the punting scene with new business Beazabet, has sold in South Yarra. Beasley, a former WAFL and Bulldogs VFL footballer, and wife Merrie paid $5.74 million for the South Yarra apartment off the plan in 2013 in a development built by property developer and horse racing identity Lloyd Williams. Designed by Alan Powell with interiors by Lombard & Jack, the apartment has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a drawing room and private terrace. Bruce Parncutt, chairman and founder of corporate adviser Lion Capital, has emerged as the $6,387,500 buyer. The apartment sold through Andrew Baines & Co agent Andrew Baines. Beasley hopes to return to the on-course bookmaking at next year’s spring carnival.

A striking Port Adelaide home ablaze with a mural painted by Chilean artist Inti Castro has hit the market. Ogilvy on course for return

Professional golfer Geoff Ogilvy is selling his US home as he prepares to move back to Australia. The Adelaide-born golfer is reported by the Los Angeles Times to be moving back to Melbourne after Christmas with wife Juli and their three kids, so they’ve listed their Scottsdale, Arizona home that has a Camelback Mountain backdrop. The family have owned at Black Rock since 2009, a home that directly backs on to Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Ogilvy custom-built the 715sq m, six-bedroom, eight-bathroom Arizona home on 3000sq m in 2013. The entertainer features a great room with a restaurant-inspired wet bar. The kitchen opens to the grounds with walkways leading to a lap pool, spa, outdoor fireplace and fit pit. He’s asking for $US4.75m ($6.5m). Ogilvy won the 2006 US Open.

Mill House on market

The Mill House, one of regional Victoria’s finest country homes, has hit the market. The four-bedroom Newham home, built in the 1860s, has been restored, merging mid-Victorian architecture with modern living. It sits in 9600sq m structured gardens from landscaper Paul Bangay that are divided into “rooms”. Jellis Craig Mount Macedon agents Dominic Romeo and Tom May have a $3m-$3.3m guide for its December 8 auction. There are open grassed areas, manicured plantings, a walled herb garden and an orchard, creek and pond. Adjacent to the main home are the original three bay stables now with self-contained quarters, a two-storey barn, pavilion and pond house.
