Search giant Google has released a pleasant post-Australia Day update for it’s search app, packing a new Australian-accented voice.
We decided to put the app through its paces with a range of Aussie idioms and locales, with results that certainly beat the last time.
Google’s been constantly tinkering on it’s app’s voice assistant and the efforts have paid off, with the app competently responding to requests for dunnys, bottle-o’s and Maccas. Impressively, the app also competently deciphered the barrage of Aussie cities we demanded directions to.
Always ones to brag about a new feature, the company has also released an amusing Google-voiced cover of “I’ve been everywhere”.
