The fashion giant known for mixing life with luxury leisure is bringing a bespoke fitness concept to Sydney later this week.

Open to the public from Friday, Hermès will unveil its new world of fitness and interactive ‘gym’ in continuation of its global HermèsFit series, which has previously had stopovers in Los Angeles, Bangkok, Tokyo, New York and Paris.

The House’s pop-up gym will be located at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion in the city’s eastern suburbs between October 14 and 16 and will offer visitors the chance to enjoy instructor-led classes using custom Hermès equipment, all emblazoned with the brand’s signature motif and pops of orange.

Hermès Australia’s managing director Karin Upton Baker said the space was designed so guests can have a “unique” wellness experience, provided by a brand that has been “dedicated to leisure pursuits during a long history”, notably in service to the horse rider.

“In that sense, the Maison’s knowledge of technical clothes is specific, detailed and tailored to high performance,” Ms Upton Baker said.

The interactive experience will showcase the brand’s accessories through fitness and exercise. That means yoga with silk scarves, stretching with leather belts and kickboxing with bracelets among other things.

A juice bar, a boxing ring and a silk-inspired calisthenics course are among the already fully-booked classes, as well as a number of challenges like keeping hold of the Maison’s emblematic Kelly wallets during the Small Leather Goods Workout.

By day the space is available to anyone looking to stop by, while by night the boxing ring will be transformed into a stage for performances, DJ sets and live concerts with free admission.

A suite of other designer houses will join ranks with Hermès by bringing their own unique installations to Australia later this year.

One year after celebrating its 100th anniversary, Gucci’s immersive Gucci Garden Archetypes exhibition will stopover in Sydney from November 17 to January 15 at The Powerhouse Ultimo. The kaleidoscopic showcase, which first launched in the brand’s birthplace in Florence, Italy, is a retrospective display of conceptually adventurous advertising campaigns created during Alessandro Michele’s time as the brand’s creative head.

Similarly in November, Louis Vuitton will present See LV Sydney in which archival objects from the Maison’s heritage collection along with its most recent creations will be displayed through immersive physical and digital experiences.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from November 4 to December 11 on the fifth stop of its worldwide tour.
