Actor Rege-Jean Page shares his favourite things
The actor and Longines ambassador shares his travel hit list and the style-setters that he finds the most inspiring.
Travel destination at the top of your hit list?
I want to get to the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge at some point. That’s high on the hit list.
Building that you would like to call home?
I’d take the Opera House if it’s going?
Interior world find you’d most like to take home?
I want to look into Australian artist Otis Hope Carey’s work, which I’ve discovered through his collaboration with Longines. Seeing the way that he uses bold lines and really carefully curated simplicity in his work to connect to nature, I think, is beautiful. So I want to maybe find one of his pieces.
Favourite up-and-coming artist?
Arlo Parks I think is pretty cool as a musician. I think she still would be described as up and coming. It’s about simplicity, honesty. I think that there’s something profound in the vulnerability she finds.
Design luminary you would like to meet?
I will take as many meetings with Mr Armani as I can. The man has magic in his eyes; magic in his presence. I met him a couple of times. I’ll take 200 more.
Personal style icon you’d wish to meet?
George Clooney has an effortless elegance to him, so I think I’ll be chasing that one for the rest of my life.
Favourite timepiece?
Longines Spirit Zulu Time. It’s my go-to, it lives on the bedside table. It travels to all four corners of the planet with me. It’s a great, reliable, goes-everywhere, dresses-with-everything timepiece.
The hotel you’d like to experience next?
I never look up hotels in advance. I always kind of discover them as I go. But I always enjoy the Corinthia when I’m in London. You’ve got some stunning views, but the most important thing in a hotel is the service. It’s how comfortable people make you feel. It’s a feeling more than the specific. If somewhere can give you a feeling, then the other things matter less.
Describe an ideal Sunday.
Long walks, big meal, good company.
Project you are most excited about?
Front of the radar is The Saint. We just brought Doug Liman on as our new fearless leader and director. He’s a gloriously creative man, and so he’s got me excited all over again. I’ve been living with this for a little while now. We’ve been making improvements. That’s really got my juices going.
The story is from the February issue of WISH.
