Paris attacks: Video of father and young son at Bataclan memorial goes viral

As Parisians paid respects at Bataclan, a poignant moment between a father and son was captured | WATCH

Among the scenes of chaos and grief that have flooded our newsfeeds since the Paris Attacks, there was one glimmer of hope.

As people gathered to pay their respects at the memorial site outside the Bataclan Theatre, French TV show Le Petit Journal captured a poignant moment between a father and his young son.

A reporter is seen asking the boy whether he understands why extremists killed at least 129 people in Paris on Friday evening.

The boy responds, “yes, because they are really, really mean”.

The boy explains he is concerned that his family must move house to get away from the “bad guys,” but his father reassures him.

He explains to his son that the attackers may have guns, “but we have flowers” for protection. To which the boy responds that he feels better.

The exchange has been viewed more than 1.3 million times on YouTube.
