UniSQ launches new series of courses for professional learning
The University of Southern Queensland has launched a new series of courses for professional learning.
The University of Southern Queensland has linked with industry to offer professionals the opportunity to learn a package of skills critical for employee well being and creating a successful business and workplace environment.
Short courses – available through the UniSQ Co-Lab and offered in-person at the university’s
study hub in Brisbane – cover cybersecurity threats and solutions, financial stress on employees, and critical knowledge of workplace health and safety for business leaders.
The concept of the Co-Lab courses was inspired by industry and the alumni community, said the university’s pro vice-chancellor (engagement) Shawn Walker.
These groups have indicated what types of professional development they believe would be useful and Mr Walker said they were “impactful, targeted learning opportunities to address in-demand skills and knowledge for individuals and businesses”.
Three courses are available in Co-Lab’s first round.
Transform Your Financial Future will explore the causes and effects of financial stress on employees and the impact it can have on businesses. It will give practical insights on offering financial clarity.
Cybersecurity Threats and Solutions will help professionals understand how to anticipate and mitigate cyber risks and understand the impact of cyber events on operations and business reputation.
Mastering Workplace Health and Safety will give leaders a full suite of knowledge of workplace health and safety obligations and offer insights into creating safe work environments and ensuring compliance.
“These courses are crafted to address pressing challenges faced by organisations today, ensuring participants gain practical insights and actionable strategies,” said Liz Fisher, UniSQ Brisbane associate director.
