The University of Tasmania’s TSBE achieves elite recognition
The Tasmanian School of Business and Economics has achieved international recognition from an elite accrediting authority.
The business and economics school at the University of Tasmania has been accredited by the AACSB (formerly the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business), a credential attained by only five per cent of post-secondary business schools.
The Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE), which is built on partnerships with local business and industry, undertook a six-year process in which it proved commitment to continuous improvement and alignment with high quality teaching, learning, research, and engagement.
College of Business and Economics interim executive dean Stuart Crispin said the elite accreditation “indicates that we are performing at a global level”.
“Tasmanians can be confident that they can get an outstanding business education right here at home and so can people from elsewhere who are looking for an innovative, distinctive place to study,” associate professor Stuart Crispin said.
The AACSB acknowledged the “placed-based, local business driven approach to research, teaching and engagement” demonstrated by the TSBE.
“Our mission is to lead research and learning in business and economics to benefit our local, regional and global communities,” associate professor Crispin said.
“We work in partnership with local businesses and industry stakeholders to provide an outstanding, distinctively Tasmanian education for our students, and to support the economic health of our community.”
