The University of Divinity has joined Independent Higher Education Australia, and the group now represents four universities outside the public system.

IHEA chief executive Simon Finn said the University of Divinity was a “wonderful fit” and, together with Bond, Torrens and Avondale universities, complemented the peak body’s “large membership of high-quality independent institutes and colleges”.

“The University of Divinity consistently ranks among the highest rated institutions for quality by students in the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching surveys,” Mr Finn said.

The university’s vice-chancellor, Peter Sherlock, said IHEA was “the leading voice on the future direction of the sector”.
