New astronomy chief for CSIRO
A former leader of CSIRO's astronomy division has returned to the organisation as the incoming Chief for Astronomy and Space Science.

Lewis Ball will return to the CSIRO after several years as Deputy Director at the Atacama Large Millimeter/sub-millimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile.
Dr Ball will be rsponsible for 280 staff across three existing radio telescopes, and the new Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder facility.
The appointment was made after Phil Diamond left the CSIRO late last year for a position at the SKA Organisation.
Dr Ball will commence in mid-March.
