Last Post: Unwanted EVs in car yards is no surprise
Sadly, the only thing renewable about renewables is the recurrent replacement costs associated with them (“Bowen’s net zero to 100 car wreck”, 21/3).

That unwanted EVs are littering car yards should come as no surprise. Plugging for the sale of EVs is one thing, then finding enough renewable energy-powered plugs with which to charge them is an entirely different, and very flawed, proposition.

“NDIS blowout a reminder of government inefficiency” (Editorial, 21/3) is on the money, especially with regard to failing to root out the less scrupulous. Good execution is the bridge between goals and their accomplishment.

Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen has urged voters to “shop around” as they deal with the fallout from his failed policies. He may have intended to say “Let them eat cake” but possibly realised, with energy prices as they are, it is impractical and insensitive.

Anthony Albanese is now throwing in cheaper medicines as another election promise (“Cheap meds and a very sick budget”, 20/3). Maybe his next promise might be to throw in the kitchen sink?

What do Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu have in common? Both have zero interest in negotiating a just peace deal until virtually all their demands are fulfilled.

Is George Orwell’s Animal Farm the procedural manual for the running of the Macquarie University law school?

Could everyone please stop using the amount of $275 when referring to Labor’s broken promise on electricity prices? The correct figure is however much your electricity bill has increased since 2021 plus the $275.

As I write this letter at a local cafe on Sydney’s lower north shore, I wonder how many of the people sitting around me are “working from home” (“AMP wants eyes on its staff – even at their home”, 21/3)?
