Last Post: The White House, Downing Street and Moonee Ponds day care
I was heartened to see the shoulder-to-shoulder support offered for Israel from the White House, 10 Downing St, the Elysee Palace and Moonee Ponds Day Care Centre.

Our state and federal governments reiterate “there is no place in Australia” for hateful symbols or public demonstrations in favour of terrorist organisations. It seems to me there are plenty.

Recent public appeasing comments by our present PM on world affairs confirm that Anthony Albanese is our Australian latter-day Neville Chamberlain.
John Bell, Claremont, WA
Upon the Allies storming the beaches of Normandy, no doubt Anthony Albanese would have advised for there to be a 21-day ceasefire to enable the Germans to regroup. We have a military genius on our hands.
Shaun Miller, Prahran, Vic
Penny Wong’s much-vaunted ceasefire was easier to achieve a few days ago. All she had to do was stop Hezbollah from firing rockets into northern Israel and get Hamas to return the hostages. Now she must stop Tehran from firing rockets too.

I agree. The White House is “No place for a knucklehead”(3/10), especially those who describe the focus on the environment as “one of the greatest scams” (Trump) and the greenhouse effect from carbon emissions as “weird science” (Vance).
Denise Sweetman, Stoneville, WA
Incredibly, the hosts of the various US Trump-hating TV channels enthusiastically declared Tim Walz the overwhelming winner of the presidential VPs debate. This kind of foolish denial does nothing to assist Americans in making an informed choice in November.

About now, some US Republicans will be asking how they would be polling in the lead-up to the election had they nominated Vance or Nicky Haley as their candidate?

Senator Payman’s determination to establish a political party poses a real problem. Who to put last on my ballot paper. It is going to be a real jostle down there.
Gordon Starke, Subiaco, WA
(“Payman political party on verge of becoming reality”, 3/10). We’ve seen them come, we’ve seen them go!
