Last Post: The anti-Semitism road, Trudeau’s fall and hoses run dry

I admire the courage and strength of Nina Sanadze to speak out against the despicable behaviour of her former associates and comrades at the Gertrude Contemporary. Her story shows just how far we in Australia have slipped down the road of anti-Semitism. How come our peaceful, welcoming nation has become so divided?

Perhaps the Labor Friends of Palestine should all go to Israel and experience a few sleepless nights in a Tel Aviv bomb shelter, as described by Gemma Tognini. They might become aware of what it feels like when someone wants to exterminate you.

Bari Weiss outlines the reasons for the decline and fall of Justin Trudeau. One cannot help but notice most apply to Australia under Anthony Albanese’s leadership: declining living standards, big immigration, anti-Semitism and censorship. Albo is wedded to peripheral issues, epitomised by the voice referendum, at the expense of the nation’s everyday challenges.

My wife and I agree that Angela Shanahan’s article (“Kids need to learn the virtue of character”, 11/1) is one of the best ever published in the opinion page of The Australian. As grandparents of five grandchildren every parent should read it.

Given all of the claims surrounding the Los Angeles fires including budget reductions, sackings and the lack of water available to firefighters, you would hope that everyone in authority was selected on the basis of ability and competence and not on woke criteria.

Brian Povey, Churchlands, WA

If Warren Mundine is given the flick from the selectors in Bradfield in favour of Gisele Kapterian then this two-faced party has truly earned its new name. The Liberals wouldn’t just be Labor Lite, but Labor Heavy. Disastrously slow learners, demonstrating that they are quite comfortable in opposition.
