Last Post: Staff underpayments, honesty in politics and NBN focus

For years I have wondered why male players in Aussie Rules pull their shorts down when they bend over and rest the heels of their palms on their thighs. Can someone enlighten me?

Lizzie Haydon, Runcorn, Qld

CBA, Woolies, Maccas, Qantas, now the RBA. When will we hear a big employer confess to massive staff overpayments?

Peter McNamara, Sydney, NSW

Francis Smith made a good point (Letters, 15/6). Shivering through winter waiting for global warming to pay off.

Leo Oostveen, Chippendale, NSW

RBA governor Philip Lowe has missed his true vocation, he should have been a contortionist /illusionist instead, as every time he opens his mouth he appears to put his foot in it!

Mario Stivala, Belconnen, ACT

Kenneth Gregson, Swansea, Tas

L M Silbert, West Leederville, WA

If parliamentary privilege were to be removed, would it stop politicians from sensationalism and curb the time-wasting so actual politicians do the work of running the country successfully for the good of all their constituents? Time to employ a compulsory (monetary) penalty box for such shenanigans.

Susan McLochlan, Caboolture South, Qld

Ross McDonald, Gordon, NSW

So is this where the US is heading, jailing a political opponent?

George Fishman, Vaucluse, NSW

Those commentators currently blithely dismissing Donald Trump as “toast” seem a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Unless, of course, their indignation at Trump’s casual handling of important documents is matched by the same attitude to President Biden’s similar misdemeanours. Seems Biden can trip up and the condemnatory hammer never descends.

Rosemary O’Brien, Ashfield, NSW
