Last Post: Sending Dreyfus to Israel is too little too late
One wonders about the climate in the Labor caucus room when angry man Mark Dreyfus, who is of the Jewish faith, comes face-to-face with angry woman Penny Wong, who clearly opposes the Israeli cause.

Will Mark Dreyfus visit the site of the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023? He will be lucky if the Israelis don’t send him packing.

Anthony Albanese seems to be so blind to the irreparable harm he has done to our relationship with Israel that he can’t see the further disrespect he is inflicting on the Israelis by sending a Jewish apologist to Israel in a hypocritical attempt to win back votes for the Labor government.

Mark Dreyfus is too little, too late.

If the US invades Greenland, NATO’s article five is triggered and then Europe is at war with the US. Vlad and Xi would love that; the rest of us, not so much.

Well done, Konstas, for having had the courage to take on Bumrah and Kohli (“No regrets, but Test wonderkid Konstas says he will play a straight bat next time”, 8/1).

Donald Trump and Elon Musk, double trouble.

I don’t know what is more terrifying, the folk tale about Chicken Little and the sky falling in or Pradeep Philip’s about climate change coupled with global conflict setting the world ablaze (“As tensions rise, we must get hawkish on energy security”, 7/1).

Albanese is obviously on the election trail. However, he has ignored communicating this with the opposition and the rest of Australia.
Anne Lindsay, Stanthorpe, Qld
I hope the Prime Minister is doing his electioneering on his own time and not when he is working for the people.
Derek Smith, Mount Ommaney, Qld
With an election in the wind, there is the near-certainty that Labor will mount a campaign suggesting the five scariest words you will hear this year are “nuclear power in your backyard”. With the future of our country on the line, may I suggest a far scarier five-word phrase is “deputy prime minister Adam Bandt”?
