Last Post: Nats have a vacancy as Joyce finds his own way out
Some may say Barnaby Joyce has had an epiphany but really it may just be another Pauline conversion (“Walked or pushed: Joyce takes right turn”, 28/11).
Tim Trotter, Brisbane
The Nationals now have a position vacant for a top-shelf political retail salesperson. Will anyone ever replace Barnaby Joyce?
Claire Jolliffe, Buderim, Qld
I’m looking forward to One Nation again having a seat in the House of Reps.
Meredith Cusack, Tenterfield, NSW
The only definitive and fully accepted decision to come out of any global gabfest is when and where to hold future gabfests (“Energy elites in denial over collapse of net-zero support”, 28/11).
Roseanne Schneider, Toowoomba, Qld
Labor’s net zero by 2050 is a noble cause. But intermittent electrical generation already is proving disastrous for the economy and environment as its footprint expands over thousands of kilometres.
Peter Lauricella, Beerwah, Qld
The east coast has experienced some bad weather recently and I wonder how many solar panels were destroyed?
Peter Condon, Southport, Qld
Anthony (“I don’t think, I know”) Albanese must be experiencing buyer’s remorse as his renewable energy policy fiasco unravels.
Jim Neville, Marrickville, NSW
150,000 people murdered and 12 million displaced in Sudan (“ ‘They killed my father’: kids tell of Sudan horror”, 28/11). Where are the good citizens of this country protesting and marching in the streets? Likewise with Ukraine.
Paul Hayes, South Perth, WA
The Victorian Premier is about to apologise for something none of us did. How about apologising to the people of Victoria for the state of violence Dan Andrews and she have presided over?
Robert Pritchard, Bli Bli, Qld
I disagree, Christopher Allen, with your criticism of the Turnbull portrait (“ ‘Painfully shallow’: Turnbull’s portrait fails the test”, 28/11). The pale, slightly ghostly pleading face and the outstretched hands, begging to be considered relevant in any form, perfectly capture Malcolm as he silently recedes into obscurity before our eyes.
Maggie Morrison, Mordialloc, Vic
Johannes Leak on the Turnbull portrait (28/11) must be top of the list for the cartoon of the year.
Terry Walmsley, Benowa, Qld
