Last Post: More employees means more workers stay at home

Tens of thousands of federal public servants still working from home since the pandemic. The Albanese government has created 36,000 new public service positions since 2022, presumably to get the same amount of work done. Anybody else joining the dots here?

John McLeod, Sunshine Coast, Qld

Australians saw the full force of the law applied during the Covid-19 lockdowns, but when it comes to cracking down on anti-Semitism, the force of the law seems less than full.

Australian Greens condemning the moderate German Greens for their non-aggressive position towards Israel should come as no surprise (“Greens fight with German ‘allies’ ”, 31/1). Claiming the Greens should be champions of non-violence, yet supporting the brutal regime of Hamas, proves they are blatant hypocrites. Is it any wonder their popularity is in decline?

Tim Abrams, Beecroft, NSW

Anthony Albanese keeps asserting there is no place in Australia for anti-Semitism. It is perfectly clear that there are plenty of places: walls, synagogues, torched cars. The list goes on.

John Dobies, Bondi Junction, NSW

Every Australia Day holiday, I put Australian flags on my car windows. This year was the first time I had people comment, “You will get your car trashed doing that”. So they would rather let these people win? I hope I see a few more people next year flying the flag because there weren’t too many this year. We have a great county we should be proud of, irrespective of whether our families have been here for one generation or for a great many.

Glenys Clift, Toowoomba, Qld
