Last Post: Missing Boris, islands staying afloat, flood risk revision

Despite his many flaws, Boris Johnson has earned much forgiveness for delivering Brexit and I will miss him. Mind you, I also miss Boris Yeltsin, Boris Becker and Barnaby Joyce, which possibly argues a character defect – or at the very least, a want of gravitas.

Terry Birchley, Bundaberg, Qld

I was pleased to read Mike Cannon-Brookes has bought Dunk Island for $25m. It could indicate he doesn’t believe a rise in the sea levels due to climate change will drown his investment any time soon.

Tom Smith, Bowral, NSW

If our Trade Minister and the government don’t take a strong stand against the entry of foot and mouth disease brought in by tourists returning from Bali, we won’t have trade issues with China or anyone else.

Christina Faulk, Gladesville, NSW

Jim Ball, Narrabeen, NSW

Graham Cuskelly, Main Beach, Qld

David Wright, Galston, NSW

Jill Elias, Dalkeith, WA

David G. Nankiville, Brighton East, Vic

Sally Goode (Letters, 12/7), my grandchildren eat seaweed for snacks. I’m not sure it reduces their methane emissions when driving home after school.

Anthony Anderson, Templestowe Lower, Vic

Spot-on, Jennifer Oriel (“Woke politics has no place in the Catholic Church”, 12/7). How could emotional women possibly model Jesus or lead others to God as he did? Jesus never showed his feelings, wept or got angry, did he?

Elizabeth Harrington, Milton, Qld
