At least Barnaby is not fearful of the vocal PC crowd

At least Barnaby Joyce has some common sense and vision. He understands that the country needs cheap reliable power to support and attract industry. Nation-building concepts seem beyond the grasp of those timid souls that criticise him and who worship on the altar of political correctness, fearful of making a decision that might attract the ire of the vocal single-issue fanatics.

Barnaby Joyce has a single-minded, burning desire to serve his constituents ... as deputy PM.

Australia must unite and ensure that Barnaby Joyce’s political career is over. It’s the only thing that matters at election 2019.

Francis Smith, Caulfield Nth, Vic

Barnaby Joyce, (self-appointed) messiah of the Coalition, or a very naughty boy?

Deborah Morrison, Malvern East, Vic

Donald Trump will go crazy if he does not build a wall. When a child wants a car we give them a plastic car. Why don’t the Americans give Trump a wall of some kind? Any kind? Just call it “Trump’s wall”.

It seems that the reservations of “Euro sceptics”, as we were called at the time of the creation of the EU, are being fully vindicated. Brexiteers are finding that, just as with socialism, you can vote your way in but you have to shoot your way out.

What a range of emotions today reading Caroline Overington’s pieces — tears for her tribute to John Kennerley and chuckles about sparking joy with Roxy Jacenko. Priceless.
