Last Post: Leave work-from-home deals to workers and employers

The Coalition now has a policy on working from home (“Look who’s WFH friendly now”, 3/6). Surely where one works is a matter of agreement between worker and employer? Here is another government intrusion into our lives in the making.

Peter Clarke, Corinda, Qld

Let’s hope the “new” Liberal Party is mature enough to accept Anthony Albanese’s offer to sideline the Greens and in so doing regain some relevance and credibility.

Bruce Williams, Merewether, NSW

If I had three cups of coffee a day I’d be a train wreck (“Three cups of coffee a day ‘make women age better’ ”, 4/6).

Riley Brown, Bondi Beach, NSW

Hamas gunmen were seen where Gazans were lining up and trying to collect food from Israeli-facilitated humanitarian aid (“UN’s despicable bias over Gaza”, 4/6). What do we hear from the UN and the biased media? Condemnation? No, just deafening silence.

Robert Krochmalik, Pearl Beach, NSW

I can only hope Sussan Ley will tell the Prime Minister that Australians just don’t need any new taxes. All the government needs to do is to stop spending/wasting so much money. We’re all using restraint, why can’t the government?

John Colebatch, Kelso, NSW

I’m looking forward to Albo’s next visit to the Oval Office to discuss defence spending.

Shane Hughes, Shenton Park, WA

All very ideologically pure, but did it change the climate (“Climate change spend surges to $9bn a year”, 4/6)? And if so, how do they know, what did they measure? I suspect the $9bn made no measurable difference. The money should be spent on defence, where it would make a measurable difference.

Doug Hurst, Chapman, ACT

Peter Jennings’ article (“Albanese about to get brutal lesson in great power politics”, 3/6) makes one think. Is it at all possible that our Prime Minister, after being referred to as “handsome boy”, is now putting America behind the “romance” with China?

John Bicknell, Bargo, NSW

While applauding Ukraine’s attacks, Alexander Downer’s sobering remarks on the bloody way Russia has waged war for hundreds of years need to be considered (“President needs history lessons on Russia”, 2/6). Hitting Russia is like punching a memory foam pillow. Until Vladimir Putin and his bunch are consigned to the rubbish bin of history, a peaceful Russia is simply an oxymoron.

Tom Smith, Bowral, NSW
