Fancy former prime minister Paul Keating accusing the UK of “delusions of grandeur and relevance deprivation”. Talk about pots and kettles.

Enzo Prata, Macquarie Park, NSW

It is a pity Paul Keating cannot learn that peoples’ views that differ from his are not demented but may be offering an alternative he should consider.

David Harrison, Coogee, NSW

Paul Keating is the one suffering from “delusions of grandeur and relevance deprivation”. Who does he think he is?

Lorraine Voss, Kingston, Tas

Another Keating rant. Oh well.

John McLeod, Sunshine Coast, Qld

Neil Forbes, Stratford, Qld

If you want to buy some thin acid French wine, then go ahead. I would rather pay a bit more and have a peaty scotch followed by a robust Australian Shiraz and then a VSOP French brandy. And my wife says I drink too much. Nonsense.

Alexander Haege, Tamarama, NSW

Agreed, Ruth Bonetti (Letters 24/1), practice may not always produce perfection, but it has its benefits (discipline, motivation, application) – so how does that make it a myth or a dirty word?

Roseanne Schneider, Toowoomba, Qld
