Last Post: Harris does a poor interview but what is there left for Trump to claim?

After her poor Fox News interview, one can safely say Kamala Harris has well and truly cooked her goose before Thanksgiving.

So now Trump claims himself to be “the father of IVF”?! I’ve stopped counting his outrageous claims. I apologise in advance for being a little sacrilegious but will he soon claim to be the Second Coming?

From an inner-city housing commission childhood to beach bum – when will the travails of Albo the Aussie battler end?

I don’t have a problem with the PM achieving the Aussie dream of home ownership. However if, down the line, negative gearing changes are brought in, will that open an insider trading issue?

Jack the Insider writes that 32-year-old Greens housing spokesman Max Chandler-Mather “has no assets besides a savings account, owning nothing” (“PM solving the housing crisis one property at a time”, 17/10). I feel for the MP’s inexperience and naivety. How will he fund his retirement when he turns 67? I am 67 and will be 102 when he reaches retirement age. I have some free financial advice for Chandler-Mather. He should start saving some of his substantial parliamentary salary to build some wealth. With discipline, he has the means to buy an apartment to either live in, or dare I say rent out with negative gearing and capital gain.

Origin Energy’s recent pivot back to gas (“Green scheme must include gas – Origin”, 17/10) and recent withdrawal from a promising hydrogen project are both disappointing and detrimental. This backflipping not only stalls progress in renewable energy but deepens Australia’s energy crisis. It’s time for consistent and committed action towards sustainable alternatives rather than reverting to short-term, non-renewable solutions.

When will Labor ministers such as Tony Burke stop raving on about “what we inherited from the previous government”? It’s a lame excuse from any member of government. This makes me think he is incapable of fixing it.

While the donation of 49 Abrams tanks to Ukraine from ADF surplus stocks is to be applauded, nothing will atone for the inane political and military decision to scrap and inter the 45 ADF Taipan helicopters that Ukraine pleaded for and intended to use.
