Last Post: Did Trump ignore Albanese?

It seems Anthony Albanese is destined for an Oval Office inquisition after all (“Albanese left hanging as Trump plans early G7 exit”, 17/6).

Kim Keogh, Claremont, WA

Donald Trump meets Keir Starmer and discusses AUKUS. He doesn’t invite Anthony Albanese. Just shows Albanese is regarded as insignificant. His and Kevin Rudd’s disparaging comments of Trump and neglect of defence are coming home to roost.

Charles Stanford, Bondi, NSW

Trump is leaving the G7 early. What does that mean for our PM’s meeting with him? So, unfortunately, Albanese is not going to come up trumps when our alliance with the US has never been so important.

Lisa Sanderson, Auchenflower, Qld

The meeting between the US President and the Australian Prime Minister has been cancelled because of the Israel-Iran conflict. If Albo had been quick thinking, he could have said: “Don, can I hitch a ride with you on Air Force One and let’s talk on the way to Washington.”

Paul Everingham, Hamilton, Qld

The question arises: which side we would be on (“US-China war: we would be in”, 17/6).

Frank Pulsford, Aspley, Qld

Where are Iran’s CRINK mates – China, Russia and North Korea – when it needs them?

Philip Squire, Ashgrove, Qld

I am amazed at the number of claimed war crimes committed by Ukraine and Israel and none by Russia, Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran. The list goes on.

John Field, Coolum Beach, Qld

Thank you, Nova Peris (“First Australians’ turn to speak out for our Jewish allies”, 17/6). Your moral clarity stands in stark contrast to the government’s lack of solidarity with the Israeli people and the existential threat they face.

Galya Kay, Bondi Junction, NSW

Nova Peris tells us what it’s really like in Israel while Penny Wong is merely “alarmed”.

Roseanne Schneider, Toowoomba, Qld

Nova Peris has written a fantastic article. I’d like to recommend that a copy be sent to Jacinta Nampijinpa Price. Perhaps she will now think about issuing similar support.

Robyn Manoy, Darling Point, NSW

There must be some more taxes Jim Chalmers can come up with for those who have worked hard and not cost the government anything in handouts (“Surprise death penalty twist in new super tax”, 17/6).

Sheila Duke, Bulimba, Qld
