Perhaps Malcolm Turnbull is applying to join the Labor Party.
For all the words written on Malcolm Turnbull’s contact with Bill Shorten, I can only suppose it was all about the status of Turnbull’s application to join the Labor Party.
If Malcolm Turnbull is truly the narcissist some say he is, how would expelling him from the Liberal Party stop him undermining the government? He would merely increase his efforts using anyone and any means at his disposal, aided by a like-minded son.
Considering he’s no longer in politics, why do I see Malcolm Turnbull on the front page nearly every day? Giving the man daily exposure is just what he wants. He knows left-leaning journalists have decided that — just as the US media will publish anything that embarrasses Donald Trump — they will now do likewise and try to bury Scott Morrison and the Liberals.
Margaret Ludowyk (Last Post, 6/12) says “Turnbull was the best thing the Liberal Party had going for it”. I had no idea the situation was so irredeemably dire.
We thank our pollies for mercifully abandoning Canberra for the summer, but now we have to deal with that awkward date in January and the perils of having a good time while eating lamb chops.
I hate to state the obvious, but many high school students — and primary students for that matter — probably have a better grasp of climate change than many adults.
How dare China and India aspire to our levels of industrialisation by following the same fossil-fuel pathways to economic growth and development (“Global emissions to hit historic high despite renewables surge”, 6/12)? Don’t they realise God made them poor so we could continue on our profligate lifestyles? Imagine, with 17 per cent of the world’s population, India accounts for 7 per cent of global emissions. Shameless eco-terrorists!
As we hear continuous balderdash about climate change, could Bill Shorten tell us how much his billions in subsidies to other regions and our generators will reduce our bills. He doesn’t care about jobs, or the plight of Indians seeking simple power.
I can have no respect for any religion whose leaders condone or turn a blind eye to acts of terrorism committed in their name. To do so would amount to an act of blasphemy.
