Last Post: Bowen looks like Labor’s best bet for a poll win
Peter Dutton must realise Chris Bowen is his most effective spokesman against a Labor victory. He should be insisting that Anthony Albanese keep Bowen in place and let the people decide. It is only a matter of time before Bowen snaps under the strain and advises voters that if they don’t like Labor’s policies, “Don’t vote for us”. Pure gold for Dutton.

No one seems to have asked Chris Bowen what difference will Australia bankrupting itself to achieve net zero make to global climate change. The answer remains net zero.

Chris Bowen’s continual excuse that power price increases are due to reliability problems at coal-fired generators is akin to the old gem that we haven’t polluted the rivers, it’s the dead fish that are polluting the rivers.

In addition to unreliable wind and solar as sources of power, we can now add Donald Trump’s America.

With friends like tariff Trump, muscle Musk and vanity Vance, who needs enemies?
Kevin Burke, Sandringham, Vic
All this daily Trump bashing and analysis is getting rather tiresome. Isn’t it more important that your AFL/NRL team wins on the weekend?
Paul Hayes, South Perth, WA
We can’t say we weren’t warned. Trump has been rabbiting on for years about making America great again. He just omitted to tell us his plans included shafting Ukraine, jumping into bed with a monster and trashing his friends as well as his enemies.

If Peter Dutton is so sure he can fix the tariffs situation, why doesn’t he just do it? For Australia, rather than for political pointscoring.

If Peter Dutton slashes the public service in Canberra, he might destroy the cafe trade that depends on it.

Anthony Albanese, Kevin Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull, the three wise men. Perhaps they should do a course on how to win friends and influence them before they’re let loose on the international negotiating stage.

Could we possibly get our millions of dollars of deposit back on the AUKUS submarines? France or Japan would make better partners.
