Last Post: Albanese visit giving China tourism a shot in the arm
Our Prime Minister is to be congratulated for his masterful manipulation of the US relationship. Trump et al must be perplexed in the extreme with Albo’s “give it to me, big boy” approach with China and probably can’t wait for their own turn with him over the barrel.

After six days of embarrassing photo opportunities and kowtowing in China, someone needs to tell Albanese that his white, Rabbitohs hat has dumb bunny written all over it.

So there we have it. Xi will sail his naval ships around Australia when he likes where he likes. I am tipping he wouldn’t do that to Israel without asking very politely.
Murray Horne, Cressy, Vic
Of course Albo looks comfortable on China’s Great Wall. After all it’s just another big fence.
Tim Trotter, Brisbane, Qld
One of Anthony Albanese’s reasons for his trip to China was to promote Australia’s tourism industry. Not sure how that’s going but he’s certainly promoting Chinese tourist attractions.

It beats me why our Prime Minister is so deeply in thrall to the leader of a powerful communist country intent on world domination, and likely to achieve it, to Australia’s detriment.
Susan Dornan, Beecroft, NSW
Hats off to our Prime Minister when representing our country on overseas visits. Please, no more wearing a baseball hat. He has missed a great opportunity to promote the hat that is recognisably Australian, the Akubra.

So Albanese wants Australia to be the Switzerland of the South Pacific. More like Swiss cheese.

As for Jason Clare, so much for acting against anti-Semitism hate (Clare puts anti-Semitism report on hold”, 17/7). Next!
George Fishman, Vaucluse, NSW
Jason Clare’s decision to delay releasing the special envoy on anti-Semitism’s report beggars belief, but sadly reflects Labor’s true stance, equating the issue with Islamophobia.
Alex Cleave, North Fremantle, WA
Instead of doing nothing about Jillian Segal’s plan to stop the rise of Jew hatred in this country, the government will likely cherrypick actions that don’t offend its Islamic voter base.
