Last Post: A plea to Melbourne’s historical revisionists, all is forgiven
I rather suspect that Prime Minister Netanyahu’s message in his speech to the United Nations members can be decoded as “If you do not stop Iran, we will”. Although Penny Wong and like-minded comrades were oblivious to this message, the report that Iran has moved its Supreme Leader “to a safe location” shows that the message was received and clearly understood in some parts of the world.

Long may Steven Lowy’s contribution to Australia continue.

Steven Lowy speaks eloquently of the very particular sense of fear and isolation Australia’s Jewish community faces daily. Despite this, Lowy also speaks for many immigrant Australian families from all faiths and cultures, who see this spiralling anti-Semitism as a direct threat to the values and freedoms that drew them to Australia in the first place.

To those statue-destroying activists of Melbourne, please come back. We may have been harsh in describing you as neo- Marxists, extreme Greens and historical revisionists. We all make mistakes. The thought of a statue of Dan Andrews overlooking the economic, social and political destruction of Victoria that he was responsible for may tip many Melburnians into PTSD. To the statue destroyers, all is forgiven. Please come back, and don’t forget your angle grinders.

Sydney University’s belated response to an eight-week anti-Israel illegal encampment demonstrates that in academia, you can find a rationale for doing anything, or doing nothing. Unfortunately, in the case of anti-Semitism, it is not purely academic

Shakespeare wrote “all the world’s a stage”. Sadly, Paul Keating’s once dazzling stage performance (“Keating takes swipe at AUKUS ministers in London”, 28-29/9) has become dated, lacking in contemporary relevance and tedious.

Well may the ACCC check the price gouging by Coles and Woolies at the checkout. All I ask is that it also includes looking at how these two mega-retailers screw down the suppliers of their fresh fruit and vegetables.
