Gossip & Gotcha Gallery, amnesty for terror & GOAT

If Daniil Medvedev thought he was unloved in Australia he should see Scott Morrison.

Liam Hayes, Somers, Vic

Overcooked: PVO is being precious about his sauces (“SMS turns PM’s reset into painful rewind”, 3/2).

Les Shearman, Darlington, NSW

Peter van Onselen tells us that some politicians from the same party don’t particularly get on. Who would have thought?

Murray Horne, Cressy, Vic

As a voter, I’m looking forward to balanced and unbiased reporting from the parliamentary press leading up to the election.

Laurie Le Claire, Epping, NSW

The Canberra press gallery’s name should reflect their output. My suggestion is the Gossip & Gotcha Gallery.

Barry Perry, Newtown, Vic

The price of nuclear power (Letters, 3/2) must account for ongoing costs of clean-up. The Ranger mine in Kakadu was to cost $943m to shut down; now the estimate is $1.6bn to $2.2bn. Somebody will have to cover that, presumably the end users of the uranium, who will pass it on to electricity consumers.

Jeff Tompkins, Albany, WA

Well done to Alex Ryvchin (“No amnesty for NGO’s false claims of Israeli apartheid”, 2/3) for calling out the disturbing anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli stance of Amnesty. This once proud exponent of human rights appears to have become little more than an apologist for terrorists.

Bill Stefaniak, Narrabundah, ACT

It’s not legally permissible for a Christian to marry a Jew in Israel. The similarity of this to South Africa’s apartheid-era Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act is obvious.

David Armstrong, Maylands, WA

Your correspondent Daniel Ben-Ami (“The shadows around the light unto nations”, 3/2) seems to be confusing the stark discriminatory practices of an Israeli government at home with a supposed resentment towards Jewish success in business around the world.

Mark Chapman, Buderim, Qld

What an ineffably mundane name for a GOAT: Tom Brady (“How Brady’s career passed all tests without spiralling out of control”, 3/2).

Brian Sanaghan, West Preston, Vic

Graeme Hillier (Last Post, 3/2), I’ll consider moving to Perth if you promise me a nice dinner. I know I’m not Jane Bieger, but I’m a fast learner. Oh, and I don’t eat duck.

Rosemary O’Brien, Ashfield, NSWs
