Capacity Investment Scheme little more than a Ponzi scheme
The Capacity Investment Scheme is a Ponzi scheme: it is secretive, forever locked in, and the taxpayer is footing the bill for its ultimate failure.

Spy chief Mike Burgess would be wise to bear in mind the saying “Loose lips sink ships”. One would have thought his political masters would have curbed his alarmist public commentary. This is not to say that China does not pose a threat to our national security; simply that little, if anything, is achieved by commenting publicly on the matter.

Return to Paradise is the worst Australian police series since Shannon’s Mob. It could have been a good idea to have a former Sydney water cop who in her later years moves to a small town. She was already there, so it’s not too late. Promote Catherine McClements or bring back Water Rats.

Argentinian President Javier Milei abolished rent controls last year, resulting in near tripling in supply of rentable dwellings and falling rents. For Australians, who are experiencing an acute shortage of rentable and affordable dwellings, this is a compelling lesson.

Bill Clinton may rebuff suggested involvement with Jeffrey Epstein by saying in a clear presidential drawl: “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
