AUKUS submarines review a blessing in disguise?
Do we need a new anti-corruption body to investigate the anti-corruption body?
Burt Bosma, Surrey Hills, Vic
The review of the AUKUS submarines may be a blessing in disguise if the contract is cancelled. Nobody has yet offered any credible reason why we need the submarines in the first place. What would they do?
Ross Hudson, Mt Martha, Vic
Penny Wong’s abuse of the Magnitsky law is terrifying for all Australians. This law was created to prevent the abuse by a totalitarian or authoritarian government on any citizen it might decide it didn’t like. This is hypocrisy in the extreme as so many politicians from states that do not believe in freedom have not been attacked, but our democratic ally, Israel, has.
Robyn Manoy, Darling Pt, NSW
In one breath, Penny Wong condemns Hamas for its terrorist activities and calls for hostages to be released. In the next, she advocates for rewarding Hamas for these very actions by recognising a Palestinian state as part of a peace process. By any measure, this is the very definition of cognitive dissonance, and shows just how muddled this government is in its foreign policy.
John McLeod, Maroochydore, Qld
Penny Wong’s decision to sanction two ministers of the Israeli government reeks of sanctimonious hypocrisy. Either she is politically motivated or oblivious to all the other atrocities occurring around the world.
Ross McDonald, Gordon, NSW
Does anyone remember Angela Merkel for anything but her appalling decision on migration that has fractured German society? In 10 years, Anthony Albanese will be remembered for nothing more than his energy policy that fractured the Australian economy.
Paul Everingham, Hamilton, Qld
Best Q+A episode? Barry Humphries and Miriam Margolyes. Where has all our roistering, rollicking, irreverent humour gone?
Ann Rennie, Surrey Hills, Vic
Anyone who supports freedom of speech should be lamenting the axing of both The Project and Q+A. The studio audience consisted of many schools groups and both were an introduction to politics.

Now that it’s winter I’m surprised the Snowy 2.0 workers are not demanding “snow and chill” money every time they step out! In spring, it will be “pollen allergy” money.
