Termite-killer Michael Sukkar may need more bug spray if he’s to get rid of leftie Libs
Assistant Minister to the Treasurer Michael Sukkar on Sky News, yesterday:
I think all Liberals agree we don’t want left-wing socialists in the Liberal Party, and we’ve done a very good job of keeping them out for the last 75 years, and I know that’s something that all Liberals agree with me on.
Some would argue there are a few socialists in the Liberal Party at the moment. Bronwyn Bishop on Sky News, October 17 last year:
We’ve got to admit this whole mess (on energy policy) started with government intervention … with Turnbull being contaminated with socialist ideas.
Sukkar was responding to a speech he gave in November 2016. Reported by the Herald Sun, Monday:
And, like termites, they’ll (lefties) get in and they’ll eat us from the inside out unless we do something.
Sukkar tried to be a peacemaker on Sky News, yesterday:
We’ve done a very good job of keeping the socialists out, but we’ve got to remain vigilant at all times.
How thorough a job has Sukkar done on the termites? The Australian reports, yesterday:
… long-term (conservative) president Michael Kroger will be challenged by vice-president Greg Hannan … He (Hannan) is also said to have secured support from members who believe that factional hardheads (who back Kroger) are turning to churches and ultraconservative communities …
The Victorian right still has some work to do with left-wing Libs. Choice.com.au, August 9 last year:
Termites are a destructive pest. It’s important to have regular and thorough inspections …
Though socialist ideas are appearing everywhere these days. Tony Abbott on Sydney’s 2GB, April 9:
If a company is threatening an essential service (like the Liddell coal plant), it is up to the government to take appropriate action.
Elsewhere, visiting French President Emmanuel Macron was very nice to US President Donald Trump at the White House state dinner, Tuesday:
I got to know you; you got to know me. We both know that none of us easily changes his mind. But we will work together, and we have this ability to listen to one another … And for the quality of our exchanges, I would like to thank you … Mr President, dear Donald … Thank you.
Did the presidential pair have a fight after dessert? Macron addressing congress, yesterday:
We can choose isolationism, withdrawal or nationalism … But closing the door to the world will not stop the evolution of the world.
A certain US rap superstar seems fully to support the President. Kanye West on Twitter, yesterday:
You don’t have to agree with Trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother.
The only world leader with “dragon energy” is His Majesty, the King of Bhutan. Wikipedia:
In the Dzongkha language, Bhutan is known as Drukyul which translates as “The Land of Dragons”. Thus … Kings of Bhutan are known as Druk Gyalpo (“Dragon King”) …
Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, may have a little dragon in her, too. The rapper on Twitter, hours later:
My wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don’t agree with everything Trump does …
