Perhaps Greens need to read less Russian propaganda and listen to more Arabs

IF the planet is heating up so rapidly, how come it is only as hot as it was 12 years ago?

Records melt! Peter Hannam, The Sydney Morning Herald, yesterday:

JUNE a global scorcher as records melt. Last month was a scorcher for global temperatures with warmth over land and sea breaking records for June while sea-surface temperatures posted their largest departure from long-term averages for any month.

Last sentence, when they think we’ve stopped reading, reveals it’s no hotter than it was 12 years ago. Hannam, SMH, yesterday:

THE first half of the year tied 2002 as the third warmest on record for land and sea-surface temperatures, NOAA said.

Hundreds of thousands! Greens senator Lee Rhiannon, July 13:

WE stand here today with hundreds of thousands of people across North America, across Europe, around the world ...

Millions! Russia’s state-owned RT, July 17:

IN our millions, we’re all Palestinian: Wave of protests worldwide demand end to Gaza slaughter.

Er, 2600. Daniel Pipes blogs, July 19:

AGGREGATING all of RT’s spurious numbers, one finds that … RT’s estimate that six demonstrations included a total of about 15,500 participants would mean that there were an average of some 2600 protesters in each.

Civilians are being killed! Senator Rhiannon, July 13:

THE more than 700 who have been injured and the 100 who have been killed ... More than 70 per cent are women and children because Israel is targeting the civilians of Gaza in these bombings …

So how come Hamas can build tunnels but not bomb shelters? Abdulateef al-Mulhim, Arab News, July 16:

SO, why Hamas was successful in spreading a sophisticated network of tunnels and fail to build simple bomb shelters … Hamas leaders are jet setters. They travel high class, stay at the best hotels and eat the best food but their people are not paid their salaries on time and … Hamas did not even think of building bomb shelters. So, is Hamas looking for more innocent Palestinian casualties to gain more sympathy from the outside world?

Senator Rhiannon, July 13:

I DON’T want to see rockets going to Israel but what we know is this is a war of an Oppressor, Israel, against the Oppressed, the Palestinians ...

Egyptian talk show host Maher Shahin, al-Tahrir TV, July 12:

WE are ready to die today in defence of the Palestinian cause — but we are not ready to die in defence of Hamas. Not a single drop of blood will be shed ... Sorry, a drop of blood is too precious ... We are not prepared to sacrifice even a single hair from the eyebrow of an Egyptian soldier or civilian, for the sake of Hamas and all the people who wage Jihad, while indulging themselves in all kinds of dishes at the swimming pool ... We are afflicted with a bunch of people who pretend to be Muslims, but do not understand anything, or else, they think people are stupid. They goad people into fighting, terrorism, and violence, under the pretext of “Jihad”, while they themselves sit at a hotel, a swimming pool, or a nudist beach, eating a variety of dishes, marrying four wives, and driving the latest model luxury cars.

Children are dying. Senator Rhiannon, July 13:

THE Palestinian children have been killed at a rate of one every three days, which is a reminder how the war on Palestine is unrelenting from Israel and why we need to raise our voice with such strength around the world ...

Don’t be disturbed! Hamas TV host, al-Aqsa TV, July 20:

THESE people — their time had come, and they were martyred. They have gained (Paradise) ... Don’t be disturbed by these images ... He who is Martyred doesn’t feel ... His soul has ascended to Allah.
