If renewable energy is cheaper why doesn’t Facebook switch?

Cheaper! Sophie Vorrath, reneweconomy.com.au, August 27:

Executive director of The Australia Institute, Ben Oquist … (said) that … “renewables are cheaper”.

Cheaper! John Durie, The Australian, September 12 last year:

The simple facts from where Andy Vesey sits are that wind power is now at least 38 per cent cheaper than coal, solar is 16 per cent cheaper and the gaps are getting wider by the day.

Cheaper! Alan Kohler, The Australian, March 17 last year:

According to Ross Garnaut, large-scale solar is already the cheapest source of electricity in Australia, cheaper than coal and gas. He told me … this historic crossover happened sometime last year.

If they are so cheap, why wait until 2020? Julian Spector, greentechmedia.com, August 30:

Facebook committed Tuesday to contract renewable energy for all of its electricity consumption by 2020 …

Boy, girl, non-binary! Kate Campbell, perthnow.com.au, August 27:

A baby’s sex would no longer be recorded on their birth certificate under a proposed reform … of WA’s gender reassignment laws … Other changes proposed … include: removing the need for a person to undergo a medical procedure to have their gender identity officially recognised … three categories … male, female and the new category of “non-binary”. A person can make up to three applications to change their gender in a lifetime before having to seek the approval of a court. Minors aged 12 or over can seek a certificate to formally change their gender … Commission chairman … Dr David Cox said … there should be no opposition to these suggested reforms … (The) proposed model for children who want to change gender was “one based on the principle of self-determination”.

No gender left behind! Howie Carr, Boston Herald, August 5:

The smugger-than-thou PC Democrats … were trying to add a third “gender” to the Massachusetts driver’s licence — Gender X. But … as everyone knows, or would know if they were “woke”, there are an infinite number of genders … how dare the commonwealth lump (them) all … together … Rep Jim Lyons … decided to take a stand … Every gender … must be listed on Massachusetts driver’s licences! … How many genders are there? … 73 (on Facebook) … Lyons began filing his affirmative-action amendments … Amendment 21 — gender fluid, 22 gender non-conforming, 23 gender questioning, 25 gender variant, 26 genderqueer … Under House rules, Lyons would have 10 minutes to debate each gender … The leadership was beat … If Lyons insisted on going full Social Justice Warrior, there would be no time for reality. They ordered Gender X back … into the closet … sparing … (the few sane Democrats) from being recorded … on whether to recognise the pangender, polygender and cisgender … Asked … why he’d done such a thing … Lyons … (said) “Are you saying you want to leave some genders behind?”

Bombshell gets scant media! Peter Hartcher, The Sydney Morning Herald, August 28:

It would have been the biggest news in Australia … But with the prime ministership in crisis, there was scant media interest in … the bombshell decision that … (Huawei was) to be banned from building Australia’s … (5G) network.

Yawn! Predicted months ago. John McDuling, The Sydney Morning Herald, June 14:

It looks like Huawei … has next to no chance of being involved in the next generation of mobile … in Australia.

Scant interest? Page 1. Supratim Adhikari, The Australian, August 24:

… the government (has) blocked China’s Huawei … from participating in Australia’s 5G mobile network.
