Kathy’s clowns must wish they had never set foot in Jacksonville

Brad Norington, The Australian, Tuesday:

Pretending to be a corruption whistleblower almost worked for Kathy Jackson. Eight years ago, Jackson attracted headlines when she went to NSW police and made allegations of serious corruption against two fellow leaders of the Health Services Union, Michael Williamson and Craig Thomson.

Gotcha. ABC, March 28, 2014:

Former Health Services Union boss Michael Williamson has been sentenced to 7½ years in jail for fraud … (NSW District Court judge David) Frearson described Williamson’s “parasitic plundering of union funds for pure greed”.

Gotcha II. The Sydney Morning Herald, December 17, 2014:

Former federal MP Craig Thomson has been spared a jail term but fined $25,000 for using union money on “self-indulgent” spending on prostitutes and fine dining. Thomson, 50, showed little emotion when County Court judge Carolyn Douglas on Wednesday imposed a conviction, but no prison time, over the misuse of Health Services Union money between 2002 and 2007, when he was the union’s national secretary.

Moving on. Independent Australia website, December 15, 2014:

Meanwhile, Kathy Jackson … faces civil action for approximately $1.4m. You could be forgiven considering the amounts of money involved that Victorian police would probably turn a blind eye to a drug lord like Pablo Escobar and spend vast amounts of taxpayer dollars chasing the guy sitting on his couch with a bong in front of the TV.

Guilty, of course. ABC, Monday:

Former Health Services Union boss Kathy Jackson has pleaded guilty to misappropriating close to $68,000 in union funds. Jackson, who was charged after a royal commission investigation into union corruption, pleaded guilty to two charges of obtaining financial advantage by deception in Victoria’s County Court on Monday afternoon. The ABC can now also reveal that in December 2019 a jury found Jackson guilty of two criminal charges in relation to her time as boss of the beleaguered health union.

The other bloke. The Guardian, August 27, 2014:

The ex-husband of whistleblower Kathy Jackson received $50,000 from the union she controlled, as part of a divorce settlement, the royal commission into union corruption has heard …

Short back and sides. The Daily Telegraph, August 29, 2014:

Steamy union whistleblower Kathy Jackson has hit out below the belt at Health Services Union barrister Mark Irving, describing their barber’s chair sex romp as a “charity shag”. “Everybody makes mistakes,” she added … She said they used to make love in his apartment, which had a barber’s chair in the living room, after Friday night drinks.

News.com.au, October 20, 2015:

The unstoppable force of the Kathy Jackson maelstrom continues to batter the lives of some high-profile men and leave the public gape-mouthed. The former Health Services Union leader is a remarkable woman — tough, intelligent and determined — who has left a trail of men who have been partners or victims of her ambitions.

Kathy Jackson, Four Corners, October 19, 2015:

It would have been so far easier if they’d just killed me early.
