Avuncular Joe Biden is gaining a reputation for obnoxious and insulting behaviour

Nasty Joe. Kaylee McGhee, Washington Examiner, March 10:

The older Joe Biden gets, the meaner he becomes, and the less he seems to care ... His third presidential campaign has been riddled with outbursts and insults that seem out of character for the 77-year-old. This week was no exception. In yet another heated exchange with a private citizen, Biden told a Michigan construction worker who questioned the former vice-president’s gun control proposals that he was “full of shit” before threatening to “slap” the worker “in the face” and calling the worker “a horse’s ass”. This is not an isolated outburst. Last month, Biden called one female voter a “lying, dog-faced pony soldier”.

Declining Joe. Kurt Schlichter, Townhall website, March 12:

Joe Biden, the Chauncey Gardner of American politics ... used to be sort of amusing. Except he’s not amusing any more. His decline is sad to see, but the obnoxious sense of unearned entitlement he projects ... is intolerable.

Cognitively deficient Joe. Caleb Ecarma, Vanity Fair, March 10:

Donald Trump and his institutional attack dogs ... are escalating their efforts to portray the former vice-president as cognitively deficient. Trump ... implied that Biden lacks the mental capacity to survive a general election race.

Sean Hannity, Fox News, March 11:

This type of agitated behaviour is part of an increasing, disturbing pattern ... Joe Biden is struggling ... Everybody sees it. The media mob and Democratic Party may try it ignore it — it is now official, and it is beyond alarming ... It is even hard to watch: the confusion, the inability to finish thoughts, the daily gaffes ...

Belligerent Joe. Charles Cooke, National Review, March 10:

If he is as belligerent and ill-disciplined as the incumbent, what is Biden’s case for replacing him? In this instance, the answer seems to be that, unlike Trump, Biden will usher in stricter gun control ... If Biden now has a reputation as a champion of gun confiscation ... he is going to have a hard time winning back the voters that Trump peeled away from the Obama coalition.

Rita Panahi, Herald Sun, March 12:

No matter how hard the Democrats and their allies in the media try, Biden’s cognitive issues can no longer be ignored or blamed on some right-wing conspiracy. There is simply too much footage of his muddled rants, inexplicably bizarre outbursts and Charlie Sheen-levels of confusion to try to gaslight the American public

Offensive Joe. David Krayden, The Daily Caller, March 12:

Conservative radio host Dana Loesch said that Joe Biden’s campaign behaviour is so offensive that he has achieved “the absolute impossible” of making Hillary Clinton “seem likeable”.

Farron Cousins, Ring of Fire website, March 11:

Donald Trump Jr has diagnosed Joe Biden with Alzheimer’s disease.

Carefree Joe. Luke O’Neil, The Guardian Australia, January 30:

Joe Biden apparently doesn’t care if you vote for him ... in Iowa he had the latest in a series of bizarre encounters with potential voters, telling a man ... to “go vote for someone else”.

John Kehoe, Australian Financial Review, May 21, last year:

(Chris Bowen’s) flippant remark during the campaign, “If you don’t like our policies, don’t vote for us”, was seized on by the Coalition and privately lamented by Labor colleagues.
