National Australia Bank has identified an underpayment issue for about 730 employees involving $850,000.
The bank said some staff who had been paid for shift work or work on a public holiday were entitled to a top-up payment in line with the safety net facilitation clause under the enterprise agreement. The top-up payment would include superannuation and 5.25 per cent interest for inconvenience.
The Finance Sector Union was informed on Monday, and the Fair Work Ombudsman would be told as well.
“We have let down our colleagues and it’s not good enough,” NAB chief people officer Susan Ferrier said.
