Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Friday, December 2. The Australian sharemarket pulled back from a seven-month high on Friday on losses led by real estate and energy.

The S&P/ASX 200 index closed 0.7 per cent lower to 7301.50, but still ended the week higher.

The dollar was buying US68.14c at the close.
