Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Friday, August 11. The S&P/ASX 200 index retreated 0.2 per cent, or by 17.90 points to 7339.50 with energy leading losses across eight of the 11 sectors. For the week the benchmark index held on for a 0.2 per cent gain.
