That's all from he Trading Day blog for Friday, November 14. The ASX 200 index closed down 1.4 per cent at 8634.5 after hitting a 4 month low, wiping out about $36bn after a US tumble. Tech, mining and financial stocks lead falls.
On Wall Street, the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite shed 2.1 per cent, the S&P 500 index was off 1.7 per cent and the Dow Jones closed 1.7 per cent or nearly 800 points lower.
Cryptocurrency giant bitcoin has dived below $US100,000.
The Aussie dollar is trading higher around US65.49c.
