Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Monday, December 16. The ASX 200 index ends down 0.6 per cent to 8249.5 points led by mining falls. It was the fifth consecutive daily fall, the first since April.
On Friday, the Dow Jones index fell 0.2 per cent, while the S&P 500 slipped less than a point and the Nasdaq Composite rose or 0.1 per cent.
Bitcoin's above $US104,700.
The Aussie dollar is trading around US63.69c.
