Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president following the conclusion of Tuesday night’s debate, praising her policies on LGBTQ rights and abortion, as well as saying she is a “steady-handed, gifted leader.”
She also encouraged her supporters to vote, saying, “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”
In an Instagram post to her 283 million followers, Swift posed with a picture of her cat Benjamin and signed her post on Instagram “childless cat lady,” a reference to Trump’s running mate JD Vance, who criticized Harris as a childless cat lady.
Swift endorsed Biden in 2020 and has endorsed Democrats before, and has encouraged her supporters to vote. But fans were questioning when she would weigh in on this election, given it is rapidly approaching and early voting starts soon. In her post, she said she waited until she could see both candidates in the debate.
