Pre-orders open for Samsung S7/S7 edge

Samsung’s new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge phones can now be pre-ordered from Australian telcos.

Samsung’s new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge phones can now be pre-ordered from Australian telcos who have released pricing.

Telstra customers who pre-order either phone will get a free Samsung Gear VR headset, while stocks last. Telstra says its customers can enjoy speeds of up to 450Mbps on Telstra’s 4GX network in 4GX areas, and high-definition calling and faster call setup times with voice over LTE (VoLTE).

Both smartphones are available on a range of stand-alone Go Mobile and Go Business Mobile plans as well as packages that bundle a Galaxy S7 with a Samsung Tab A tablet for $99 per month on a Go Mobile Plan.

The S7 is available on a 24 month plan for $79 per month and the S7 edge for $86 per month with $550 talk time and 1 Gigabyte of data per month.

Virgin Mobile is offering Samsung Galaxy S7 edge for $91 per month ($80 plan & $11 phone cost) with 6 gigabytes of included data, another 2GB bonus data plus a further 6GB extra data for the first 3 months if you switch to the Optus network, get a new number or upgrade handsets with the company.

The S7 is available for $60 monthly and the S7 Edge for $65 monthly on a basic plan with $300 of standard calls and 300 megabytes of included data.

Vodafone is introducing a new plan especially built for the Samsung Galaxy S7. It includes unlimited standard national calls and unlimited standard national and international texts, 6GB of data to use in Australia and $5 Roaming, which lets customers use their normal plan inclusions in over 50 countries for just $5 extra a day.

Vodafone says it will sell the Galaxy S7 to customers for $7 per month on Vodafone’s $70 plan over 24 months — $77 per month in total. The Galaxy S7 edge will be available for $19 per month on Vodafone’s $80 Red plan over 24 months.

The S7 edge will be available for $20 per month on the $70 plan (total $90 per month over 24 months) or $15 per month on the $80 Red plan (total $95 per month over 24 months)

Vodafone says it is offering the 32GB variants of both the 5.1 inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5 inch Galaxy S7 edge in black, silver and gold.

Optus said that customers who pre-order either phone before 11 March will receive a bonus Samsung Gear VR, valued at $159.

Optus customers who pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S7 on a $100 My Plan Plus with $0 upfront

repayments over 24 months or the Galaxy S7 edge on a $100 My Plan Plus with $4 monthly handset repayments over 24 months will get a bonus 2GB of data each month.
