EDITORIAL

PETER FARQUHAR

Editor

A journalist since news was printed on paper, Peter switched to digital in 2007, joining a fledgling news.com.au. He has since specialised mainly in tech, news and business. He came to Stockhead in 2019 after five years at Business Insider Australia. He also manages an apple orchard in Tasmania, mainly for the cider benefits.

CHRISTIAN EDWARDS

Deputy Editor

Christian joins Stockhead via two years as a senior producer at Ausbiz TV and previous stints at the AAP, AFP and the Xinhua News Agency. His work has appeared in the AFR, SMH, Daily Telegraph, The Australian, Le Monde Diplomatique and, naturally, The People’s Daily. He was the associate global editor at Business Insider.

REUBEN ADAMS

Deputy Editor

Reuben is a former editor of the Australian Mining Review. He’s a highly experienced resources journalist and aspiring hobby farmer/goat breeder based in the far south of WA.

BEVIS YEO

Senior Energy Reporter

Bevis has more than a decade of experience covering energy and resources news in Australia with a particular focus on oil and gas. He is a former editor of Energy News Bulletin and is based in our Perth office.

JOSH CHIAT

Senior Resources Reporter

Like many mining scribes, Josh cut his teeth for the Kalgoorlie Miner. In the Wild West he wrote for the weekly Mine Talk feature and the West Australian’s business section. Josh covers large cap miners as well as iron ore and coal producers in the weekly Bulk Buys column. A soccer nut, he will never sell his West Ham United stock.

EDDY SUNARTO

Reporter (biotech, health, finance)

Eddy spent the best part of the last decade in Tokyo and London, gaining experience at investment banks and learning about financial markets. He’s always been an enthusiastic follower of Australian equities. Now back in Australia, he joined Stockhead to cover breaking news on multiple ASX sectors.

EMMA DAVIES

Reporter (tech, lithium, rare earths)

Emma has been writing about resources for the past five years – give or take a year when she had a short stint as the editor of a national education paper. In her spare time, she writes about women in sport with work published in Foxtel Magazine and the Women’s Game. She also covers ASX cannabis stocks, but didn’t inhale.

ROB BADMAN

Senior Cryptocurrency Reporter

Pizza delivery boy, cinema usher, journalist, sub editor, deputy chief sub, chief sub, digital producer, page editor, copywriter and a journalist again. That’s one way to sum up Rob’s career. Maybe he’ll come full circle and get into the pizza biz once more. Until then, he’s writing about crypto and holding too many s**tcoins.

JESSICA CUMMINS

Reporter (renewable energy)

Jess started her career at the Kalgoorlie Miner back in 2017, reporting on the arts and education news rounds before ending up at Proactive as a financial journalist. Working out of Stockhead’s Perth office, Jess has a double degree in journalism and PR as well as a Masters of Marketing from Curtin University.

NADINE MCGRATH

Reporter (health, finance)

Nadine is a Brisbane-based journalist with a keen interest in financial markets and the economy. Her media career kicked off as a rural reporter with WIN TV progressing to News Ltd and AAP. She’s also worked on the other side in public relations and is an excellent and highly effective manager of three teenagers.

BARRY FITZGERALD

‘Garimpeiro’ has covered the resources industry for 35 years and has written for The Australian, The Financial Review and The Age. The inaugural winner of the Diggers & Dealers Media Award in 2003, Barry is a committee member of the Melbourne Mining Club, a non-profit organisation formed to foster industry debate.

GUY LE PAGE

Guy Le Page is a director and responsible executive at Perth-based financial services provider RM Corporate Finance. Prior to entering the stockbroking industry, he spent 10 years as an exploration and mining geologist. Now he is involved in M&As, IPOs, valuations, consulting and corporate advisory roles.

TIM BOREHAM

Tim is one of Australia’s best-known small-cap share analysts and business journalists. He has more than 30 years of experience writing for major business publications. He is known for the highly-respected Criterion investment column which ran in The Australian, and covers in-depth biotech and health stocks in the weekly Dr Boreham’s Crucible.

PETER STRACHAN

Peter Strachan is a capital markets veteran, resources analyst and lover of the oil and gas game. The brains behind the popular weekly StockAnalysis investment letter, which launched in 2003, Peter has worked in capital markets for over 35 years, and is a qualified metallurgist and geologist.

ORIEL MORRISON

Oriel Morrison is one of Asia’s most well-known business journalists, and is the CSO of APAC Network. She previously anchored global finance shows CNBC’s Squawk Box and CNBC’s Street Signs. Oriel has over two decades of business and financial news reporting experience. She joined CNBC from Bloomberg, and has been a regular presenter for Sky Business News and Channel 7 news programs.
