Special Report: Magnetic imagery has shown the highly prospective Achilles Shear in NSW, home to one of 2024’s most exciting discoveries, may continue into Regener8 Resources’ North Achilles project.

The data will provide an immediate search space where R8R can focus initial exploration at the tenement.

Regener8 Resources (ASX:R8R) North Achilles project is immediately adjacent to tenements held by Australian Gold and Copper (ASX:AGC) where, approximately 2.2km south, the Achilles discovery was recently made.

It displays outstanding drill results including 5m at 16.9g/t gold, 1,667g/t silver, 0.4% copper and 15% lead and zinc.

That find spurred a number of explorers to take a fresh look at NSW’s Cobar Basin, historically one of Australia’s major copper-producing regions.

R8R’s share price shot up 27% when it announced its decision to enter the region late last month. The area is famous for its plunging ‘pipelike’ geometry with short strike-lengths and persistent depth extent.

R8R managing director Stephen Foley said the potential continuation of mineralisation from AGC’s discovery into R8R’s ground was certainly exciting.

“Achilles has outstanding gold, silver, lead and zinc results and the ongoing exploration by AGC and Strategic Energy Resources (ASX:SER) shows the potential for even more discoveries,” Foley said.

R8R will now look to advance exploration at the project, including land access negotiations, following the tenement grant which is expected in the December Quarter 2024.

More than Achilles

In another exploration hotspot, R8R is exploring the exciting potential of the East Ponton project, a multi-commodity play on a large-scale package in WA’s Eastern Goldfields region.

It also plans to get more boots on the ground at its Hatlifter prospect, where R8R found 3m at 1.3% nickel and 0.6% cobalt. This highlighted the potential for settings similar to Deep Yellow’s (ASX:DYL) Mulga Rock, 80km to the north.
