Latest Belararox geophysics confirm copper porphyry system at Malambo
Belararox is hot on the trail of a copper porphyry system at the Malambo prospect at its TMT project in Argentina.
BRX confirms copper porphyry at the Malambo prospect in Argentina
Company zeroing in on target ahead of planned 6000m drilling program
Drilling also planned at the Tambo South prospect
Special Report: Belararox says geophysics have further confirmed the copper porphyry system at the Malambo prospect at its Toro-Malambo-Tambo (TMT) project in Argentina's San Juan Province.
The Malambo prospect represents a porphyry copper system that has been confirmed by assay results from rock chip and talus samples, combined with the results of geological mapping and now geophysics.
A drone magnetic survey and magnetisation vector inversion (MVI) modelling have been completed to help the company double down on targets for its soon-to-commence drilling program at the prospect.
“MVI survey results, with magnetic responses aligning with the modelled porphyry systems, provide further support for the selected drillhole locations,” Belararox (ASX:BRX) managing director Arvind Misra said.
“We are eager to commence drilling to investigate the source of these anomalous zones.”
6000m drill program planned
Belararox has already successfully identified numerous promising targets within the TMT project and plans to undertake a thorough and extensive program led by an experienced team that is currently established in Argentina.
The 6000m program at the Malambo and Tambo South targets are set for completion by April 2025, with drilling to first start at Malambo where 3400m of diamond core drilling will be undertaken across three drill holes.
These holes will target below outcropping potassic alteration and continue to 1000m to 1200m to test the 3D geochemical anomalies at depth.
Tambo South, the second high-priority drill target for testing, has 2600m of diamond drilling planned in two drill holes.
Those are planned to a depth of 1200 to 1400m, targeting below the quartz veins and surface molybdenum anomaly and into the 3D geochemical model.
TMT is located near two of the largest copper discoveries of recent years – Filo Del Sol and Josemaria – both now in the stable of global mining behemoth BHP.
