Errawarra Resources’ surface sampling outlines potential to grow Elizabeth Hill silver play
Errawarra Resources’ surface sampling has identified multiple high-grade silver targets at its Elizabeth Hill project in WA’s Pilbara region.
Special Report: Surface sampling at Errawarra Resources’ Elizabeth Hill project in WA’s Pilbara region has returned multiple elevated portable XRF readings of up to 920g/t silver.
- Errawarra’s surface sampling has returned elevated pXRF readings of up to 920g/t silver at Elizabeth Hill
- Multiple high-grade silver pXRF results have been identified north and south of the historical mine
- Collected samples sent to laboratory for detailed analysis, drilling poised to start soon
The work identified multiple high-grade silver pXRF results ~300m to the north and ~150m to the south of the historical Elizabeth Hill mine that correlate with the location of the Munni Munni Fault system.
Samples returning elevated silver readings are typically from iron-rich, gossanous-like material at the project, over which Errawarra Resources (ASX:ERW) had acquired a 70% interest in late March 2025.
While pXRF is not a replacement for laboratory analysis, it is nonetheless a key part of the exploration geologist’s toolkit as it is a real-time sampling tool that can identify areas of promise.
This is certainly true for ERW with executive director Bruce Garlick saying the identification of high-grade silver values in areas north and south of the mine presented compelling new targets.
“This is an extremely exciting observation by our field team,” he added.
“We will now focus further field work in these areas to determine the potential for extensions to the known mineralisation.
“Coupled with our upcoming drilling program, due to commence in the coming weeks, this once again highlights the significant exploration potential at Elizabeth Hill.”
Elizabeth Hill silver project
While Elizabeth Hill doesn’t currently have a defined resource, it is a proven producer that previously delivered 1.2Moz of silver at an impressive 2,194g/t head grade in a single year before operations ceased in 2000 amid low silver prices of ~US$5/oz.
It also benefitted from simple processing with native silver recovered using low-cost gravity separation techniques.
The deposit remains open at depth while the recent consolidation of the land package by the company offers potential to discover more Elizabeth Hill style deposits.
ERW has dispatched the surface samples to the laboratory for further analytical testing with results expected in 6-8 weeks.
Its inaugural diamond drilling program will begin soon and will test several high-priority near-mine targets including near-surface mineralisation, down plunge extensions and strategic holes to enhance the geological understanding and structural orientation of the mineralised system.
