Brightstar Resources spots up to 75.5g/t at Sandstone
Brightstar Resources has reported up to 75.5g/t gold at the Vanguard North deposit at its Sandstone hub in WA.
High-grade gold results in latest drilling at Sandstone Hub

Drilling is underway at the Menzies project
Special Report: Brightstar Resources has fielded shallow high-grade gold results from RC drilling at the Vanguard and Vanguard North deposits of its Sandstone Hub in WA.
The hub hosts a resource of 1.5Moz at 1.5g/t gold with the Vanguard camp hosting 3.8Mt at 1.5g/t for 217koz.
And it’s in the middle of the Sandstone district, a compelling development area with substantial mineral endowment despite limited previous systematic exploration.
This 8,500m drilling program was aimed at infill drilling inside pit shells to upgrade the resource to an indicated status and will underpin economic studies that are underway.
The RC drilling also aimed to test for adjacent mineralisation in key areas targeting resource growth, including down-dip extensions at depth and investigating untested gold-in-soil anomalies along strike.
Notable assays from Vanguard North include:
- 3m at 26.3g/t Au from 26m, including 1m at 76.5g/t from 27m;
- 2m at 28.8g/t from 89m, including 1m at 55.2g/t from 89m; and
- 1m at 29.5g/t from 113m.
Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) said these results confirmed the shallow, high-grade nature of the mineralisation in the Vanguard Camp, highlighting strong potential for open pit mining options.
Results from the Vanguard include:
- 5m at 12.5g/t Au from 154m, including 1m at 51.2g/t from 156m
- 5m at 3.89g/t from 119m; and
- 2m at 5.83g/t from 112m.
Both deposits are open at depth with strong mineralisation intercepted below the current A$2,500/oz optimised pit shells.

Start of 100,000m+ campaign
It’s all systems go for exploration across Brightstar’s Laverton, Sandstone and Menzies Gold Hubs this year. This latest program was the start of the company’s extensive 100,000m+ drilling campaign across its projects, with the RC rig now drilling at the Indomitable Camp in the Sandstone Hub.
A second RC rig is drilling a ~6,000m program at the Yunndaga deposit at the Menzies Gold Project, following completion of a ~4,000m program at Cork Tree Well at the Laverton Hub.
"These results from the Vanguard Camp demonstrate the presence of high-grade mineralisation within our Sandstone gold project,” BTR managing director Alex Rovira said.
“This is most notable at Vanguard North where gold is hosted in narrow quartz veins, at gold grades regularly exceeding 20g/t gold.
“The more complex Vanguard deposit has also produced significant high-grade material, both in the shallow domain as well as at depth, which is hugely exciting for potential future extensions to the deposit.
“Brightstar’s geology team are currently interpreting these new results, which will feed into planned resource updates and further drillholes targeting resource growth.”
Rovira said the company expected the aggressive drilling campaign will see material increases to both the size and quality of the resources base in Sandstone.
“Despite having a mineral resource of +1.5Moz at 1.5g/t gold already, which is enough critical mass to support early feasibility workstreams and to underpin a standalone development, Brightstar is excited with the scale potential of our Sandstone Hub,” he said.
Drilling also continues across Brightstar’s portfolio in the Murchison and Goldfields regions, and with assay results soon to follow from Bull Oak, Havilah, Lord Nelson and Indomitable within the Sandstone Hub, along with Cork Tree Well at Laverton and Yunndaga at Menzies.
